Glossary Automated Export System (AES)

Automated Export System (AES) is an online platform provided by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection to electronically process export declarations for goods being exported from the United States. Through this system, exporters can create and submit export declarations, and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection reviews them to determine if the exports could be approved. The AES is a necessary procedure for complying with regulations and laws related to exports, and it applies to all goods that are exported from the United States. Exporters can submit export declarations electronically through AES, which reduces the hassle of creating and submitting paper documents and allows for faster and more accurate processing of export declarations.
