Glossary Contract Rate System

The Contract Rate System is also called Dual Rate System. The contract rate system sets the contract rate and non-contract rate to the standard rate of the alliance, where shippers only ship with alliance vessels. A low rate is applied when in contract, and a high rate is applied when not in contract.
