Glossary Customs Authority

The Customs Authority is a government agency that manages the importation of goods into a country and imposes import and customs duties. This agency is responsible for customs inspections to monitor border surveillance and prevent illegal trading activities. The Customs Authority performs import declaration and clearance procedures, levies taxes and tariffs on imported goods, and controls the entry and exit of imported goods. It also protects the legitimate rights and obligations of imported goods and performs searches and arrests of illegal imports and exports to ensure the safety of the country and its citizens. In addition, the Customs Authority monitors compliance with international trade agreements, collects information on international trade practices, and establishes and manages administrative regulations such as tariffs, clearance, and currency regulations for exports and imports.
