Glossary Distribution Center

A distribution center refers to a logistics base and facility that performs functions including loading/unloading, storage, shipping, and delivery while storing inventory in order to provide services regarding customers’ orders. Unlike a warehouse which only has a mere storage function, a distribution center is an intermediary base between suppliers and consumers in the physical distribution process where multiple suppliers and demanders exist, integrating and optimizing them for efficiency. It also performs the function of replenishing goods for the delivery center and aims to streamline transportation and delivery.
