Glossary Transtainer, Transfer Crane

A Transtainer(also known as a Transfer Crane) is a machine used in container terminals to stack and unload containers. It can stack up to 4-5 levels, making it more efficient in land usage compared to straddle carriers. It is most suitable for terminals with limited yard space as it can be stacked higher. However, one drawback is that waiting times can increase when handling large volumes of cargo.
