[US]8.13 US, Airports (JFK/LGA) halt operations due to massive flight delays
On August 13, significant flight delays were reported at US airports due to adverse weather. John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) imposed a ground stop until 4:00pm, affecting arrivals and departures with significant delays. LaGuardia Airport (LGA) was also under a ground stop until 3:45pm, with increasing departure delays. An average departure delay of 135 minutes was recorded, while arrival delays averaged 40 minutes. The National Weather Service issued a 'marginal' risk for severe weather, impacting flights in the tri-state.

On August 13, Typhoon Podul caused the cancellation of around 250 international flights across Taiwanese airports. At Taoyuan International Airport, 91 flights were canceled out of approximately 1,000 scheduled. Kaohsiung International Airport had 152 flights canceled or delayed out of 171 scheduled. Taipei Songshan Airport experienced cancellations mainly for flights between China and Taipei.

Torrential rains forced Mexico City's main airport to shut down flights for hours on consecutive days. The disruptions began early Tuesday when aeronautic authorities suspended all flights for at least four hours. Heavy rains continue to affect the Mexican capital, also causing flooding in various city parts.
